Christian Pulisic leads USMNT to 1-1 draw against Venezuela

Eighteen-year-old midfielder Christian Pulisic scored an equalizing goal for the United States in the 61st minute of a friendly against Venezuela in Utah on Saturday evening.

Pulisic, who's coming off a German Cup victory with Borussia Dortmund, now has five career goals in 15 international appearances. His equalizer this weekend helped the U.S. secure a draw ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Up next for Pulisic and the USMNT is a WCQ match against Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday followed by another WCQ match against Mexico on Sunday (both games will air on FS1). U.S. fans should hope for at least four points from those games — a win at home (T&T) and a draw on the road (Mexico).

Last September, Pulisic became the youngest American to score in a World Cup Qualifier when he netted two goals and an assist in a 6–0 win over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The U.S. could use a few more goals from the young star later this week.
