FC Cincinnati vs Charlotte Independence: Battle for the Queen City Cup

With all of the excitement and buzz spreading about FC Cincinnati's 4th round U.S. Open Cup match against the Columbus Crew SC this upcoming Wednesday, it could be easy to overlook that FC Cincinnati has a match this Saturday against the Charlotte Independence.

With the Blue & Orange sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference table (4-3-5), this game presents an opportunity for the team to grab 3 points against a Charlotte squad that are 12th in the Eastern Conference (3-3-3). This match, just like most moving forward, will be extremely important in FCC's quest for a 2nd straight playoff berth.

As if the Battle for the Queen City Cup wasn't already intriguing enough, star striker Djiby Fall will likely return back to USL action after serving a six-game suspension in USL regular season play. It also appears that Saturday's game will again have stellar attendance with over 15,000 tickets already sold, creating another terrific atmosphere at Nippert Stadium.

So I have one question for you: If you haven't bought your tickets for Saturday's game, why haven't you?

In addition to the game taking place on the field, the Cincinnati Zoo will make an appearance, it's Kids Club night, and there will be a fireworks show taking place after the game. Combine this with a fantastic forecast of mostly clear skies and a game time temperature of around 80 degrees, this will certainly be a game that you don't want to miss.

With the spectacular action that will be taking place both on and off the pitch, it's shaping up to be another phenomenal match for FC Cincinnati.

The game starts at 7 pm, and the fireworks will likely start around 9:15.
