FC Cincinnati's Andrew Wiedeman award USL Team of the Week honor
After having what could go down as FC Cincinnati's goal of the year, Andrew Wiedeman was nominated to the USL Team of the Week. While he did not make the starting XI for the team, Wiedeman was awarded one of the six bench spots.
The 27-year-old striker came on for Danny Konig during Saturday's game against the Charleston Battery. After holding a 1-0 lead for a while following a Djiby Fall goal, the Battery scored a pair to take a commanding lead. The Battery, who seemed to have control of the game, were not ready for the Wiedeman show.
Here is the goal that landed this young striker on SportsCenter's top 10.
This was a great goal and one the striker will remember for quite some time."I think I've scored about 10 goals in my career so it's definitely in the top 10" @awiedeman3 #SCtop10 pic.twitter.com/f8VXl8bscn— Bailey Banter (@BaileyBanterFC) June 18, 2017
FCC will be back in action as they take on the Saint Louis FC at Nippert Stadium on June 24.
