FC Cincinnati to sign two new players as summer transfer window begins
As teams around the USL gear up for the latter half of the season, we should be seeing a few players making new allegiances this summer. And with the North American summer transfer window beginning on July 10th, FC Cincinnati has gotten off to a fast start.
Alan Koch will be reunited with two of his former players in forward Kyle Greig and center back Sem De Wit at the expense of Whitecaps FC 2.
Greig, who has experience with the Whitecaps first team, will join on loan until the end of the season while De Wit joins on a permanent deal. These could be two very beneficial signings to the club as they add depth to positions that are needed in what has been a grueling season so far.
After playing 13 games in 53 days and another coming up midweek against Miami in the US Open Cup quarterfinals, the roster could use a few extra players to take the load off the guys playing every week. Greig, who scored 11 goals in 27 appearances for WFC2 will be a great addition to an already potent attack in Djiby Fall and Danni König while De Wit will help strengthen the back line in the hope of advancing in the cup and moving up a few places in the league (currently 6th with 18 games played) to secure a playoff spot.
There has not yet been an official statement from the club on these players but it is expected they will announce them within the next few days. Both players should be crucial for FCC's hopeful playoff run in the USL.
