FC Cincinnati back in tri-state to face Northern Kentucky University

FC Cincinnati will be playing NKU at Northern Kentucky University on February 27 at 7:00.

FC Cincinnati, who went on the road to begin the preseason, completed retooled their roster this past offseason. This season, they have a brand new trio of goalies, only one returning forward, and only four returning midfielders.

Although they've managed to create a new and unfamiliar roster, it's perceived to be one of the best in division two second history. They dug into the NASL that boasted several star talents, but as for the league itself, it never quite got off the ground like it had hoped to.

Through their first three games, FC Cincinnati has gone 2-0-1, only tying the MLS's New England Revolution during their two-game Florida preseason trip. The Lionhearted already took down the newly found Indy Eleven and one of their USL Eastern Conference foes, the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

As FC Cincinnati prepares to face off against Northern Kentucky, the one scenario that will be ahead of us is how forward Russell Cicerone pays his gratitude to NKU head coach Stu Riddle. Riddle coached Cicerone in his four seasons at the University of Buffalo, where Cicerone managed to win MAC players of the year in 2017 and MAC rookie fo the year in 2013.

While this game ultimately might tell us little about the pace of these two teams, it should allow us a glance at so many new additions.

Just as FC Cincinnati is back in the tri-state, we will be also. Continue to check back in with Bailey Banter on Twitter and Facebook for live in-game updates on all the action at the NKU Soccer Stadium.
