PREVIEW: FC Cincinnati vs Atlanta United 2

FC Cincinnati hosts Atlanta United 2 Saturday May 5th @ 7pm. This is the Blue and Orange's first ever game against United since they just joined the USL this season as a farm/development team for MLS side Atlanta United.

It seems that FCC will catch them at a good time, unlike Atlanta's MLS big-brother, Atlanta 2 has struggled thus far into the season with a 1-2-3 record and a -2 goal differential. Meanwhile FCC has secured points in its last 4 matches and in the past 7 days has scored 6 goals to win two matches in a row.

FCC has yet to win in front of it's fans in Nippert Stadium with a 1-0 loss to Louisville in the home opener and a thrilling 2-2 draw against Pittsburgh. The team will look to put on a show for the fans as they have found their form as of late. Expect Kenney Walker to once again play a pivotal role in controlling the midfield as well as scoring, which he has a knack for as of late, he leads the team with 3 goals.

With Louisville City (16pts) losing to Indy Eleven today 1-0, this provides FCC with a chance to hop Louisville should they win giving them 17 points and the lone spot atop the Eastern Conference (and the entire USL).

It would be a homecoming for Goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt who left FC Cincinnati following the 2017 season to join Atlanta United 2 with hopes of making it to their MLS roster. However, chances are he won't make the flight up to Cincy, due to an injury he suffered early on in training and has not seen the field or starting XI yet this season as a result.
