First Preseason Game in the Books as FC Cincinnati draws Montreal

The MLS era for FC Cincinnati is officially underway after a 1-1 draw with Montreal at the IMG Academy complex in Bradenton, Florida.

FCC saw themselves go behind early after a low shot by Ignacio Piatti, beating new goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton in the 11th minute.

The boys from Cincinnati found their footing more and more as the half progressed and Fanendo Adi nearly scored off a skillful piece of play from Emery Welshman but the Nigerian was flagged for an offside.

The second half started much brighter for the orange and blue after manager

Alan Koch made wholesale changes to the lineup with ten new players coming on to the pitch. New boy Darren Mattocks got on the end of a long forward pass from Forrest Lasso and brilliantly chipped the Montreal goalkeeper from 10 yards for his first FC Cincinnati goal in the 49th minute. FCC largely dominated most of the second half  but couldn't again find the net before the final whistle.

Fans will be excited to see the new look team again after a solid performance. Cincinnati is back in action on February 5th to face the Colorado Rapids, the next of two more games at the IMG Academy.
