Per a recent report from Steven Goff, an MLS writer for the Washington Post, Nippert Stadium, the home of the MLS's most recent expansion team, FC Cincinnati, is the favorite to host the United States Men's National Team in a pre-Gold Cup warmup match.
"Cincinnati, which will have an MLS expansion team this season, is the favorite to host the other U.S. friendly, said the people familiar with the situation, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. If FC Cincinnati's current home, Nippert Stadium, is selected, natural grass would have to be installed over its artificial turf."
This is great news for Cincinnati, who would have their second national team game in the past three years if they landed this. In September of 2017, the women's national team put on a dominant performance against New Zealand, winning 5-0.

For the men's team, the two games will be on either June 4 or 5 and then June 9. It's unknown which of the two dates the men's team would play in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is absolutely erupting as a major city soccer city. First record-breaking attention in USL, a USWNT game, and now this to cap it all off continues to prove Cincinnati's dedication to soccer.

This would be great to see ahead of the United States Men's National Team's redemption tour in the Gold Cup. They have to prove they belong with the world's elite, and these warm-up games will be the start of that.
