Four FC Cincinnati players nominated to MLS Team of the Week after electric 3-0 home win

FC Cincinnati had four players from their dominant 3-0 home win over the Portland Timbers nominated to the MLS Team of the Week. In addition to Spencer Richey and Alan Koch in the starting XI, captain Kendall Waston and Victor Ulloa were also named two of the team's six reserves.

Let's breakdown what we saw from each of these players.

For Spencer Richey, it was his first shutout of the season. He recorded three saves and one punch in a full 90 minutes of action. Richey's seen time in the club's last two games and has continued to impress. Richey had one top-class save, helping keep the FCC momentum and lead.
Joining Richey as a starter was head coach Alan Koch. Koch set up and executed a perfect gameplan. He incorporated strength in the backline and allowed for both strong attacks from the back and elite counterattack defense. Overall, MLS is right, this was an A+ effort from Cincinnati's Koch.

For the two coming off the Team of the Week bench, Waston, the captain and star defender, scored the team's first home goal in its brief MLS history, igniting a crowd of 32,000+. Leonardo Bertone assisted on the goal, providing an excellently timed ball off a set piece in the 15th minute.

As for Ulloa, he recorded one shot, one shot on target and one foul in 90 minutes of action. Ulloa played a phenomenal game in the middle of the field for the Orange and Blue.

These four were all dominant in their own way, but they didn't quite reach the level of Wayne Rooney in Week 3. Rooney won Player of the Week behind his first MLS hat trick.
