Fanendo Adi has been the missing piece for FC Cincinnati

With FC Cincinnati’s recent streak of losses; coaches, players, and fans alike have been left scratching their head wondering what went wrong for the Orange and Blue out on the pitch.

To start the season so strong, to be left in second to last place in the East Conference is befulding everyone involved. But the answer to the Queen City’s recent drop in performance might be an easy one- the lack of Fanendo Adi.

Adi had to leave FCC’s home opener against Portland with an injury- that game being coincidentally the last game that the Orange and Blue managed to win at Nippert Stadium.

With Adi out with injury and unavailable due to league policies on an OVI, FC Cincinnati hasn’t been playing the same without their star striker up top. They’ve struggled with creating chances and finishes those they create- having only scored 3 goals in 7 games since their home opener. Their form of play just hasn’t been the same without Adi in the starting line up.

Head Coach Alan Koch has tried to find a replacement for Adi for the time being in the form of Cruz, Saief, Lesdema, and others- but no one has been able to fill his boots, yet.

Adi has been a key form for the Orange and Blue’s scoring streak, and without him, the Queen City looks lost in the final third. It’s uncertain how much time Adi will miss from the team, but FC Cincinnati will be desperate to get him back into the starting XI.
